The College offers a number of activities that enrich the student experience at the BCC. There is a wide range of visiting lecturers from all aspects of industry and demonstrations from tool and machinery manufacturers.
The College has a strong focus on the conservation of historic buildings and visits many sites and buildings of importance such as the British Museum, Canterbury Cathedral, Tower of London, Banqueting House, Westminster Abbey, the Soane Museum, Royal Hospital Chelsea, Old Royal Naval College Greenwich, Weald and Downland Museum and many other places of interest.
Our stonemasons and furniture makers visit locations such as the German Gym development at King’s Cross, Royal Hospital Greenwich and the Bank of England. Carpentry students visit an arboricultural centre to study timber in a forest situation.
There are also a number of study trips to historic buildings, museums, manufacturers and European locations such as Florence, Venice, Hamburg and Dublin.
