COURSE DESCRIPTION
  • Workshop and study based course
  • Development of specialist skills for the use of industrial type wood cutting machines
  • Health and safety
  • Use of a range of wood cutting machines
  • Handling and storage of equipment
  • Setting out and marking out joinery components
  • Production of joinery products
  • Completion of study packs, practical pieces, module tests and end tests
  • Framework element, including NVQ, Maths, English and Employment Responsibilities
QUALIFICATION
  • CITB Level 3 Diploma and NVQ in Wood Machining Apprenticeship Framework
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of Maths and English basic skills assessment
  • Commitment to and interest in wood machining
  • Apprentices must be sponsored by an employer
COURSE DURATION
  • 1 year, 1 day per week (37 weeks per year)
FEES
  • 16-18 year old = NIL
  • 19+ = £1,500 per year
  • 24+ = £5,400 per year
