COURSE DESCRIPTION
  • Workshop and study based programme
  • Fabricating and maintaining timber and proprietary formwork systems
  • Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formworking systems
  • Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Moving, Handling and Storing Materials and Components
  • Completion of framework elements including NVQ level 2 or 3, English, Maths and Employment Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
  • CITB Level 2 Diploma plus NVQ in Concrete Formworking

or

  • CITB Level 3 Diploma plus NVQ in Concrete Formworking
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of Maths and English initial assessment
  • Commitment to and interest in concrete formwork
  • Apprentices must be sponsored by an employer
COURSE DURATION
  • Level 2 = 2 years block release
  • Level 3 = 1 year block release
FEES
  • 16-18 year old = NIL
  • For continuing 19+ apprentices the employer will pay a contribution of £1,500 per year.
  • For new starts, or new level 3 apprentices, employers who pay the Government Apprenticeship Levy the fees will be paid from your accumulated Levy Fund. For employers who are not levy payers (in other words have an annual payroll of less than £3m) you will pay 10% of the cost of the apprenticeship. The Building Crafts College charges the Government capped rate for apprenticeship delivery. These rates can be seen here.
