Construction Skills is the Sector Skills Council for construction, representing all areas of the construction industry, from joiners to engineers to bricklayers, across the UK. It is also responsible for covering skills agenda such as grants and college places.
Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) are independent, employer-led organisations which have been set up to decide how training is funded and delivered across the UK. These SSCs allow employers to have direct input into the funding and training policies.
Construction Skills
Construction Skills (formerly CITB) works with partners in government to assist in all aspects of recruiting training and qualifying in the construction industry. The aim is to have a fully qualified workforce by 2010. The Construction Industry Council is the umbrella body for all professional services, research organisations and specialist trade associations.
