Kat Cary 1BSc Historic Building Conservation

Katharine thoroughly enjoyed studying at the BCC as the course is communicated through a diverse range of academic lectures, practicals and onsite visits, preparing her for the conservation profession.

Katharine is now working for Historic Royal Palaces as an Assistant Building Surveyor, managing conservation based projects at both Hampton Court and Kensington Palaces. In 2015 Katharine was awarded the Academic Scholarship at Kingston University to study an MSc Building Surveying.

Currently Katharine is working towards her Assessment of Professional Competence to become a full member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. In the future she would like to continue to work in the construction industry; project managing conservation projects so that our countries cultural heritage can be enjoyed for many generations to come.

“All the staff at the BCC were extremely knowledgeable and supportive throughout my course, making it an inspiring place learn.”
