Short Course – An Introduction to Picture Framing

Instagram: @buildingcraftscollege

A beginner’s guide to Picture Framing. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of gallery standard framing techniques using similar principles as those used by top framers in the country. Each student will complete a frame for a small piece of art of their choosing in a bespoke hardwood frame, in their preferred style, using the very best materials.

Your tutor, Hugo will take you through the process, allowing students to decide how to best present their art, before taking students through cutting, joining, finishing, and fitting their frame.

Students will be taught the most important skills within picture framing, scaled down to allow each student to use these same techniques in their own home, with their own tools and equipment.
