Short Course – An Introduction to Woodturning

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Learn to turn, in East London. From the correct selection of materials and tools; gain an understanding of different wood types and finishes, grains and movement; through to the tricks of the trade to enable you to turn bowls, spindles and pens.

QUALIFICATION
  • College certificate
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
  • Interest in design
  • No prior experience necessary

Please bring:

  • Steel toe-capped boots (to be worn at all times while on course)
  • H or 2H pencils
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Eraser/rubber
  • Pens/pencils
  • Notebook/paper

 

COURSE DURATION
  • More detail to follow but we will offer a variety of courses ranging from 2 and 4 day workshops, term-long Saturday courses and one or two week blocks over Easter and Summer
