An intensive workshop and study based course, ideal for those wishing to immerse themselves in the practice and theory of stonemasonry and architectural stonework. This course starts from scratch and suits those who have had limited or no experience, but have a passion to learn the craft of stonemasonry. Topics covered include: producing a range of stone mouldings used in building, use of hand and powered tools, drawing and templating, marking out and producing complex stone components, philosophy of repair, historic and vernacular techniques of stone construction.

The Building Crafts College offers on-site based assessment for a range of NVQs including Craft, Heritage and Supervisor at a series of levels. Completion of these qualifications requires unit based site evidence portfolios and on-site assessment by College assessors.
